Privacy Policy

What we collect

An email address to sign you in (we never ask for a password), your study answers and timing so we can schedule your reviews and show your readiness, and, if you tell us, whether and when you sat and passed your exam.

We also collect: the IP address a sign-in code was requested from, kept briefly to stop abuse of that request; basic device and browser information (like whether you installed MilesToPass to your home screen and how much offline storage it has) so playback and downloads work correctly; your commute length and weekly study days, which you set and can change at any time, to build your study schedule; and, if you make a purchase, payment details are handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe) — we store only the transaction record, never your card number.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or without signing in at /account/delete. Deletion is immediate and permanent:

• Every device you signed into is signed out and cannot sign in again.
• Your name and email address are removed from our systems.
• Your account can never be used to log in again.

What we keep, and why

We retain your individual practice-question attempts and any exam outcome you reported, stripped of any link back to you, rather than deleting them outright. This is because those records are the only evidence behind the pass rates and item-difficulty statistics we publish for a whole cohort of learners — for example, "87% of Texas insurance-producer candidates who used MilesToPass for 30+ days passed." That published number has a denominator: a count of learners and their outcomes. If we deleted an individual's history whenever they deleted their account, an already-published statistic could silently change or become impossible to reproduce, and the accuracy of every other learner's readiness score — which is calibrated against this same history — would degrade over time.

Once your account is deleted, this retained data can no longer be traced back to you: your name and email are gone, and nothing else in our systems ties the anonymous records to your identity. We keep them only in aggregate, cohort-level analysis — never displayed, exported, or attributed to an individual.
